A great bar/restaurant that is well visited by hundreds of people on weekends. The hotel is true to old western architect, with a friendly and warm atmosphere. The food is always great and comes with great service. One employee has served over 45 years there and another waitress has over 18 years of service. It is one of my favorite places to stop either on my motorcycle or in my car.
Great place to stop for food and a drink. Friendly service and beautiful, relaxed atmosphere. The hotel rooms are a great price. The rooms have been newly remodeled with fresh paint, new carpet, nicely tiled bathtub with hot hot water and great water pressure. Views of downtown Black Diamond, priceless. What a fun adventure!
The downstairs area of the hotel was fine and the staff was fine but seeemed afraid of the owner. The room however, was terrible. My husband and I could not sleep in the same bed as there were two smaller beds instead. There was free wi-if but it was very slow. The room was advertised has an air conditioned room, but it was extremely hot. We didnt realize it was unplugged until our third day there. We were not allowed to use different electronics (T.V, Phone, Hairdryer, etc.) at the same time. There are only two fire exits, no water sprinklers, a dead smoke alarm, and no phone in the room-it seems dangerous if there was a fire or other emergency requiring us to leave in a hurry. My husband expressed his concerns to the owner of the hotel and the owner said if you dont like it, leave. Very dissatisfied with this hotel and will not be coming back again or recommending this place to others.
Headed to Vegas for a party, woke up next morning upstairs in this hotel. It took a few wipes of my hands to clear the sand from the corner of my eyes, might have been the cocaine, nonetheless, the view of the mountains to the west begged to grab a coffee and awe in the splendour. The waitress and staff were accommodating to my unusual request of pickle juice to stimulate the remaining brain cells. Enjoyed a coffee and Baileys and began experiencing flashbacks from the night before. As I began the journey of recollection, the locals sitting beside me looked upon me in awe. Always a great place for a story.Drinks and food are excellent.
Food is usually great. Got the mega dip as I have in the past. Beef was tasty but more fatty than in the past. Parts I could not even chew. Not sure if I will return as it's a bit of a drive from Calgary to be disappointed. I will base my 4 star review over all experiences from past visits as if I based it solely on my last visit I would have to give 1 star... Sorry but I won't be returning. :(
